Where Healing Begins With Holding
Bianca Fernandez, MS, OTR/L, CEIM
Founder of Cocoon Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapist | Infant Massage Educator |
Bianca earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2014 and began her clinical career in subacute rehabilitation before transitioning to acute care, where she has supported patients through complex recoveries for over seven years. But it was her personal journey into motherhood that transformed her clinical perspective—and her calling.
Bianca is a mother of three, each born via cesarean section in 2020, 2022, and 2024. Her first was born during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic under emergent circumstances. The physical, emotional, and logistical challenges she faced in postpartum recovery illuminated the gaps in maternal care—and planted the seeds for what would become Cocoon Occupational Therapy.
Today, Bianca provides individualized or group occupational therapy services focused on supporting mothers and infants through pregnancy, postpartum healing, infant care, feeding, and development. She has completed the certification for certified educator in infant massage and is currently pursing additional training in lactation counseling and perinatal mental health certification:
Infant Massage (CEIM)
Lactation Counseling (CLC - in progress)
Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C – in progress)
Rooted in care. Shaped by experience.
Her approach is rooted in holistic, evidence-based care for the mother-baby dyad, nurturing the unique and interconnected needs of both. Bianca is especially passionate about helping mothers recover after surgical birth, navigate feeding challenges, and reconnect with their own bodies and rhythms.
Bianca lives in Stamford, Connecticut with her husband and three children. Outside of her work, she finds joy in dance, yoga, pilates, party planning, and interior design—creative outlets that mirror her love of movement, aesthetics, and meaningful connection.
Through Cocoon OT, Bianca’s mission is to reimagine postpartum care—providing mothers and infants with skilled, compassionate support that centers healing, function, and the sacred transformation of matrescence.
